About me

I am a mathematical physicist and geometer working on the geometry of quantum field- and string theories.
I am an associate professor for mathematical physics at the Mathematics department of Heriot-Watt University as well as at the Maxwell Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Edinburgh. I maintain a close connection to the mathematics department of the University of Hamburg where I was an Emmy Noether research group leader and an interim professor.

If you are interested in joining my group please drop me an email.

Research interests

My research goal is to uncover new physical and mathematical structures and ideas from the study of the geometry associated with field and string theories. In particular, I am interested in the moduli spaces associated with the variation of these structures, the attached wall crossing phenomena as well as physical and geometrical dualities and symmetries. These phenomena are studied using tools from mirror symmetry.
